Crafton Kerwon House Circa 1737

222 Broad Street
 Georgetown, SC

Crafton Kerwon House Circa 1737 (for historical perspective this home was built when George Washington was a mere 5 years old). A home for the historian and preservationist at heart!

According to published accounts 222 Broad Street was actually owned by four countries in its colorful 275 year history. The house was considered the home base by the British Commanding Officer during the Revolutionary War and occupation of Georgetown in 1780-81 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The two bedroom/two bath home was thoughtfully renovated in 2006 by the current owners and still remains completely original inside with museum quality architectural features which include wide board heart of pine floors, Queen Anne mantels, stairway, and vertical plank interior doors with HL hinges.

The exposed hand -hewn ceiling beams and door thresholds show the wear of the countless footsteps from nearly 300 years of continuous use!

A true treasure with a preserved heritage is now available for purchase.   The Crafton Kerwon home is located just steps from the Georgetown waterfront and Front Street in the heart of Georgetown’s Historic district.  Call us today to schedule an appointment to see!
